      <image:caption>Heidi has worked in the fitness industry for over 18 years as a personal trainer, group exercise coordinator, program manager, cycling instructor and studio owner. After working for larger corporate gyms, she started her first company, The Training Room, in 2009 with co-founder Maren Kravitz. Their goal was to offer personalized fitness services to the Somerville community without a traditional gym membership. After a decade in business, the birth of her son in 2017, and the expansion of The Training Room to a third Burlington location in 2018, Heidi sold the TR to her partner in order to focus on building a fitness community closer to home. Her new company, Movement Workshop, is an extension of her original vision with an even greater emphasis on holistic wellness - integrating nutrition programs, physical therapy and mental wellness with optimal movement-based training. She believes people who move with purpose, live with strength.</image:caption>

Through working with the MW team, Stephen was able to learn and build confidence with new functional movements, alleviating his back pain in the process. Through understanding his own body more, he gained interest in training others to move well and feel better. Stephen is a Certified Functional Strength Coach, and is excited to continue expanding and applying his knowledge as a fitness professional. Stephen graduated from Endicott College in 2020 with a degree in Business Management. Outside of the gym, he works in the construction industry as a project manager. During his free time you can find him on the golf course, attending concerts, and relaxing with friends.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>JJ is the founder of Mental Fitness &amp; Psychotherapy, a clinical psychology and performance psychology practice in both Brookline and Cambridge, Massachusetts. He holds both a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver and he is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) via the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. JJ’s approach is to help each client maximize their potential by becoming more aware of their strengths while honestly assessing their weaknesses to find opportunities for growth in these areas. JJ approaches each person with empathy and an understanding that emotional wellness is often a difficult and complicated topic to discuss, but one that is important for living a healthy life. JJ believes that physical training at the gym should add to your life and not take away from it-getting healthy through exercise is a great way to reconnect with your body while rediscovering and reaffirming your own resilience and self-worth. For JJ, working hard, being emotionally healthy, and having fun are not mutually exclusive.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Amy joined Movement Workshop as a client in 2016 after the birth of her second daughter. She has spent most of her life active, and much of it has been training for various ski teams. After a background in traditional gym strength, the Movement Workshop team brought a whole new functional movement awareness to her training. She has always loved helping others and enjoys physical challenges, so getting certified and jumping into coaching was a seamless next step. Amy is a Certified Functional Strength Coach and is excited to expand and apply her knowledge as a fitness professional. Amy graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2007 where she was on the D1 Cross Country ski team. Outside of the gym, you can find her adventuring with her family or chasing her two active girls. She has a strong passion for outdoor adventure and travel. She is a girls mountain bike mentor, involved in her local newspaper, and volunteers weekly at school.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Brad graduated from Merrimack College, receiving his BS in Sports Medicine/Exercise Science in 2018 and his MS in Health &amp; Wellness Management in 2019. Most recently, he completed the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Tufts University. Having worked at the Burlington location since its initial opening as The Training Room, Brad played a vital role in the company’s transition to Movement Workshop. He is now the Movement Workshop General Manager - managing daily operations, communications, programming and company growth initiatives. As a physical therapist and strength coach, Brad’s management expertise and versatility enables him to create fun and enjoyable programs for his clients while at the same time ensuring that everyone master the basics. Outside of the gym, you can find him ripping up a mountain bike trail, snowboarding on local hills, or enjoying time with his friends and family.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Taryn graduated from UMass Lowell in 2017 with her bachelors degree in Exercise Science and minor in Nutritional Sciences. Not only is she a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), but she also received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2020. Taryn has developed a passion for training athletes, injury prevention and rehab. Her approach to physical therapy is “Movement is Medicine”, and it is her goal to help people become the healthiest versions of themselves. Taryn also holds her Dry Needling certification (DN I) along with Level I Manipulations certification.  Additionally, Taryn co-founded her online platform, Phlex Fitness, with her sister. Together, they educate their audience about the fitness and rehab world, helping clients reach their goals through customized programs. Outside of work, Taryn enjoys being active, being with family and friends, and is a Bachelor enthusiast!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Tom is a student at Merrimack College, pursuing a BS in Exercise Science. Actively working to achieve his certification to be a Certified Functional Strength Coach, Tom hopes to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy while continuing to coach outside of a clinical setting. Tom joined Movement Workshop in the Spring of 2025, following three years of working in a Physical Therapy clinic and local gym. Tom’s extensive background in movement analysis, coaching, anatomical positioning and communication skills allow him to make a coaching environment which is both educational and enjoyable for the client. Growing up in Wilmington, MA, Tom is incredibly excited to bring his knowledge and positive attitude to Movement Workshop and those in the Boston area to make exercise fun for clients, while also allowing everyone to reach their goals safely. Outside of the gym environment, you can find Tom listening to music, playing drum-set, skiing on mountains in the Northeast, and enjoying time with friends and family.</image:caption>

Since graduating, Kevin has worked with individuals of all ages and fitness levels, bringing an upbeat, accessible, and tailored coaching style. Kevin’s main passion is educating the community about healthy lifestyle adjustments that can help reduce stress and improve mental and physical well-being. Every day is full of opportunity! In his free time, Kevin travels worldwide to compete in Kettlebell Sports for Team USA affiliated with IKMF. As a busy full-time working mom of three, my schedule offers very little flexibility. I have never been a “big gym” person, because there is no way to get the level of personalization and community I enjoy in those settings. The Movement Workshop small group training provides me with many options to attend my sessions. I started with a 2/week approach, but the flexibility in scheduling has now allowed me to attend small group sessions 3/week. Each session provides me with a chance to build my strength and stamina. Each month builds on the previous workout, so there are clear through lines to see the progress I have made. I feel stronger than I did before my three babies! I love the technical advice and small adjustments to my movements that allow me to make more effective progress.
